First let me say this, I do not have health care. Luckily I do not get sick, but I am sure one day that may change. So, I think some kind of health care for the people who can not afford it would be great. Something where you have a choice, can get treatment even with preexisting conditions, etc. Government run would be fine with me as long as they could not say you are too old or it is to expensive to spend the money on you. But if that was the case, I don't see it being any different than the way most health care insurance companies treat a person. They all seem
to try everything they can to get out of paying. You spend all your life paying in to your insurance company on premiums and when you have a claim they look for every reason possible to refuse payment or treatment. So, what really would be the difference between Government run or regular insurance except for maybe the cost out of your own pocket, I mean really.
Just like any insurance policies, no one can understand them, which I'm sure that is how it is meant to be. They give you all kinds of reasons why they will refuse a claim listed in a hundred pages of documents that you can't understand anyway. But if they would just say what they will cover it might take a half page and money would be saved on sneaky lawyer crap to fool you and wasted paper.
That being said, please read below and send us your opinion.
Let me get this straight.....Obama's health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it and whose members will be exempt from it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that is broke.
What could possibly go wrong?
WHAT ARE THEY THINKING ??

Government Health Care....
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I believe it would be wrong for the government to force everyone to have health insurance. Especially with the economy we live in today...too many people are without jobs; therefore, how are they going to pay for health insurance? And then, the government will fine you for not having insurance. Whatever!!
There are some good points to everyone having insurance...Emergency room care and fees could be lessened due to people seeking medical care when an issue arises instead of waiting until they are on their death bed. Preventative measure expenses may be covered 100% by insurance companies. Another positive point on health care reform is the fact that preexisting conditions would be accepted; but there will be a higher out of pocket cost to the recipient rather than the insurance covering the majority of the cost.
If Employers are forced to carry insurance on their employees then employers will be much more selective on who they hire. Discriminatory questions such as personal information about family may be asked in interviews which would lead to young men without families being the selected applicant. This would cause issues to rise where women would be without work and having even more difficulty finding ways to provide for their children. Another issue is the suggestion that the insurance premiums be taken out of payroll at employees place of employment, and it be based on a percentage. Some of the representatives are suggesting 12% of wages to be charged for health insurance.
The government is also planning to create and maintain their own insurance company to ensure already established insurance companies rates don't climb so high that it is unaffordable to the people.
I don't think it is an overall good idea to force health care on everyone. Some employers offer insurance as an incentive to draw employees in to work for them. What will the incentive be if we are all forced to pay for insurance if our jobs don't offer it. They haven't mentioned anything about lowering our taxes to compensate for the smaller paychecks we would receive after being forced to pay for insurance.
I think if the government were truly interested in all of us being healthy, then they would begin by spending more on educational materials to give people the choice to eat healthier, exercise, and so forth.
I believe we have to many government entitlement programs already (Social Security, Medicare, Medicade and other Welfare programs.)Why do we need more?
